Good Seed and Plant Practices (GSPP) is a new international, transparent business chain system. Certified companies have a quality management system, work methods and information supply that comply with the GSPP standard. The standard is based on state of the art knowledge to prevent tomato seed and plants from being infected by Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm). The GSPP system is managed by the GSPP Foundation and welcomes new applicants from all over the world. The first GSPP certified tomato seed and plants were available from July 2011.
If you want to apply for certification, you can fill in the certification form and pay a deposit of € 500 ex VAT. For this payment you will receive an invoice.
The certification form consists of four pages:
- page 1 and 2: company information
- page 3 and 4: information per site to be audited
When the information is complete and the deposit is received, the Foundation will send the audit information to the auditing organizations. The auditing organizations will get in touch with you to make arrangements for the audits.
Tariffs will be charged for the audits and travelling costs (by the auditing organizations), and for the system (by foundation GSPP).
